A few months ago I was contacted by the lovely people at eShakti, a women's clothing line that specializes in making custom fitted clothing. What I really love about their whole line is that any hemline can be lengthened, shortened and specific details about any item itself can be changed such as the neckline for a dress or top. As someone who sometimes struggles to find the perfect length hem for dresses and pants since I carry most of my height in my legs, I was pretty excited to have the opportunity to review one of their dresses!
As I had never ordered from eShakti before, I decided to play it safe and order on the larger side. That turned out not to be a great idea. lol. The first dress I selected wound up being too large for me and after speaking with the company, they encouraged me to stay closer to my true size and even a little smaller as their sizing works a bit differently. The next dress, my red dress shown here was the winner and I couldn't be more happy with it! This is the only red dress to live in my closet at the moment and I love the A-line cut with flouncy skirt, the optional belt which I like to wear with it and the neckline with a layered look around the bust turned out to be very flattering. It is perfect for twirling on the dance floor or even sitting at a dinner table as it's really comfy.
I custom ordered the length so that it would hit right at the knee (tea-length) which is not too short or too long and can be worn for many occasions and events throughout the year. This dress has an invisible zipper on the side. When I received the dress it had hidden pockets as many trendy dresses do these days, but that's just not me, I'm always pulled towards classic pieces with simple lines that are more feminine and elegant than playful, so I took it to my seamstress and had her remove the pockets, as I didn't want any additional bulk near the hip area. I'd also like to add that eShakti's shipping was super quick! I was shocked at how fast each dress arrived-definitely a nice little surprise.
I wore this dress during our Christmas Caribbean cruise, choosing to wear it on Christmas Eve which was a formal dinner evening. :) Sorry about the fuzzy photos after enlarging them a bit, my current camera is not the greatest. A new one is definitely on my wish list this year! ;)
By the way, if you like this red dress, even though it's no longer available, here are two other options which are close in style: Red Vintage Style Poplin Dress // Black Her Fifties Sundress
****THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED****
*Please note that the dress is brand new but was tried on by me for all of 30 seconds. Although the size is marked as Small/6 it fits more like a regular size 8-10. It has stretch to it which is why I suggest up to size 10. It runs long, it hits below the knee so if you're not 5'9" or taller like myself, you may have to have it hemmed up to to the length you prefer. This giveaway includes free shipping, I'll be shipping the dress to you from my home. :) Since this is a very specific size and length, we'll likely have a lot less entries than usual, the odds are in your favor!
