Let Yourself Dream Again

Tuesday, June 26, 2012

A gentle reminder today that your adversaries do not have the final say on your success or what happens to you during your lifetime. Often times you'll notice that just as you're finally on the road to achieving your dreams, someone will try to distract or discourage you. Try to remember who the comments are coming from, the negative ones will never come from the mouths of those who are achieving wild success and experiencing joy in their own life.

I hope this inspires someone today. Nothing pains me more than seeing someone muster up the courage to achieve something great in their life and having that dream squashed by someone who hasn't even achieved the kind of success they'd like in their own life.

Remember that others like to keep those close to them at their level. If you are moving on up, don't be surprised if you feel a struggle to not get dragged down by unmotivated daydreamers who refuse to put feet to their faith and take action. Sometimes it's uncomfortable but we must leave others behind if we truly want to move to bigger and better things. Like rocks in a backpack; discouraging friends, colleagues, strangers and even family members can weigh us down but only if we let them!

Classy women often walk alone. Read this quote from a post I wrote last fall. It's a good reminder that if you feel alone at times on your journey to achieving your dreams or fulfilling your calling, you're on the right track. After all, going out on a limb is where all the best fruit is!

Have you ever had others try to squash your dreams? Were you able to push through and silence your nay-sayers?

P.S. Reminder that the Shabby Apple Dress Giveaway is ending soon! Don't forget to enter, there's a gorgeous red dress up for grabs worth $78! Enter {here}.

Inspiration for your Week!

Wednesday, May 16, 2012

How is everyone doing? We're half way through the week and I hope you are making progress, realizing your dreams and conquering your fears!

As summer quickly approaches, and for some of you the kids get ready to finish school, it's easy to get distracted and lose focus of your goals. I have found myself distracted by necessary and unnecessary things lately and when I realized we've been home from our vacation for a whole month now and I've not seen the kind of progress in certain areas of my life that I had originally planned on for the middle of May, I decided to kick it into high gear!

Yesterday I watched a few Tony Robbins videos via his YouTube channel which actually helped a lot to re-train my mind to be laser-focused and start taking massive action by turning my shoulds into musts! I've followed Tony well before he began the Breakthrough series on Oprah's OWN Network. If you haven't seen it yet, it's a fabulous 6-episode series!

This morning a song from the 90's was playing in my headed that I couldn't help but google the words to so I could it share with all of you to get moving and take charge of your day. If nothing else, it's a great workout track!

My hope is that it is a reminder to you that you can do anything, nothing can stop you  if you keep on moving and putting one foot in front of the other. The key is to keep momentum going and take action daily. As Tony says, Progress = Happiness!

We sometimes get so overwhelmed with large goals that we don't even know where to begin. Break your goals down into bite-sized pieces. If you are trying to get in better shape, commit to walking/jogging for 30 minutes every single day before dinner or early in the morning. If you are a writer, make the decision to write just one page per day and see where it leads. Perhaps you've a student and you feel like graduation is so far away, just take it class by class, test by test focusing on each as if it is the most important and before you know it, you'll be holding your diploma!

If you fall off the wagon, get back on! Don't reprimand yourself for not having done better, for procrastinating or for not having had enough focus in the past. We can only live in the here and now. Love yourself and be proud every time you choose to take action. If you need some inspiration to get you going as I did, invest in yourself by watching these Tony Robbins videos:  New Year, New Life!  , Why Some People Take Massive Action & Others Don't , Create a New Story You'll be glad you did! :)

Did the song inspire you? What are you working towards right now? What helps you stay focused or motivated?

Have a blessed day ladies!

Turn Your Can'ts into Cans!

Wednesday, March 21, 2012
Today I posted this little quote onto my Facebook page and I wanted to share it with all of you. (I hope you'll pop by to join our daily conversations, a reader commented and gave a great book recommendation today on this topic, thanks Sheilah!)

I think we should remove the word "can't" from our vocabulary, it's such a limiting word, isn't it?  I love how happy and cheery this quote is. It's also a great reminder that we are the ones that hold the power to change our negative thoughts into positive ones. It is a decision every day. We must DECIDE to only entertain the positive thoughts and envision ourselves as achieving the very things that we feel we cannot.

Only when we change our mindset can we turn our someday 'dreams' into plans.

Today's post is a short one, more posts to come this week! Have a lovely Wednesday! :)

My New Mantra

Wednesday, November 9, 2011

Sorry I've been a bit absent lately, I feel as though I've been all work and no play but I know it's not forever,  just for a season. This is for everyone who is working towards a goal right now that seems so far out of reach, miles away and nearly impossible to achieve; those that are trying to save money, pay down debt, lose weight, find a new job, train for a marathon, the list goes on!

This is for you but it's also for me. You see, this little quote has been my mantra for the past few weeks and is now living on my desktop because I need to see it daily as a reminder of all that I'm working towards. While the procrastinator inside of me says curl up with a good book and some tea or watch a movie during my downtime, my determined and passionate spirit reminds me that in order to achieve what I've never achieved before I need to work like I've never worked before!

What is your mantra at the moment? If this one speaks to you, what goals are you working towards?
